It have been busy couple of months. Using the Climate Central platform, pupils in highschools had the opportunity to see the potential impact of rising sea levels by the end of the century, caused by global warming. Using the En-ROADS Climate Simulator, participants had the opportunity to understand the effect of individual global factors that influence this complex process: types of energy sources (coal, oil, gas, nuclear energy, renewables), the effect of introducing a carbon tax, energy efficiency, electrification, etc.
We divided all participants into five teams that championed different policies. The ultimate goal was to limit global warming to 1.5-2 °C, as agreed at the 2015 Paris Climate Agreement. Pupils received a guidance on “sustainability hacks” they can apply in their daily lives.
The education was funded by Vivacom Regional Grant with the help of EcoVarna.
